Religious presses led all US trade publishing growth in 2025, up 9.3% to $2.2 billion

Religious presses posted the largest single-category gain in US trade publishing in 2025, up 9.3% year-over-year to $2.2 billion, according to the AAP StatShot Annual report released 11 August 2026. Over five years the religion segment surged 49.1%, leading all trade categories. Overall US publishing revenue reached an estimated $33.4 billion, up 2.5%. Trade revenue totalled $21.7 billion, up 2.7%.
