Sicilian photography exhibition on wildfires nearly burned by real wildfire

An outdoor photography installation about wildfires in Gibellina, Sicily was grazed by flames from a real wildfire in late July 2026, according to Artribune. The work, "The Redemption of Nature" by Rome-based photographer Stefano Cerio, was part of the Gibellina Photoroad Festival 2026. It survived. Sicily saw temperatures above 40°C as nearly 400,000 people fled wildfires across Europe.
