Anthropic Adds Hidden Watermarks to Claude's Text Output

Anthropic is embedding an imperceptible watermark into Claude's text at the model level, woven into output without altering meaning or quality. The watermark survives copy-paste and light editing, unlike file metadata. Anthropic plans third-party detection tools, with technical docs forthcoming. New Claude models will ship marked from day one; existing models remain a work in progress.
