Audrey Werro, 19, runs fastest women's 800m in 43 years

Switzerland's Audrey Werro ran 1:53.98 in Stockholm this season — the third-fastest women's 800m in history and the fastest in 43 years. The 19-year-old won her heat at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham (1:57.83), reaching the semi-finals scheduled for Thursday before Friday's final. Werro earlier beat Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson in that Stockholm race.
