Aliens: Fireteam Elite cloud servers on Switch shut down, purchased copies unplayable

The Nintendo Switch cloud version of Aliens: Fireteam Elite was permanently shut down on 5 August 2026, making every purchased copy unplayable. Developed by Cold Iron Studios, the game launched on PS, Xbox and PC in August 2021; the April 2023 Switch port ran entirely on remote servers. Standard edition buyers paid US$29.99, Ultimate Edition US$59.99. No refunds have been offered. On other platforms the game runs locally and remains playable.
