Scotland and Netherlands accuse ICC of damaging cricket's integrity over 2027 World Cup format change
Cricket Scotland and the Royal Dutch Cricket Association issued a joint statement on 9 August expressing "significant concerns" after the ICC cut the 2027 World Cup main stage from 14 teams to 12 with little notice. The boards warned the revisions risk weakening "the integrity and credibility of international cricket" and pile financial pressure on resource-limited associate nations. The ICC has not responded publicly.
