America Raises Prices on Solar and Defense Materials

The U.S. imposed tariffs—taxes on imports—of 50% on solar panel materials and 25% on tungsten (a metal used in aircraft and missiles). Solar companies will pay more for equipment that already costs them most of their budget. Defense contractors will face higher costs too. Customs inspections will add delays beyond the price increases alone.
