Federal Authorities Seize Hundreds of Thousands of Ballots Across Five States
Since January 2026, federal and state law enforcement have taken control of hundreds of thousands of ballots and voting records from five states, reviewing both the 2020 and 2024 elections. The FBI seized 600 boxes from Georgia; the Justice Department demanded records from Arizona and Michigan; Ohio and California also turned over materials. The scale is far larger than typical election investigations, creating conflicts between federal and state officials over who controls election administration.
