A satirical political group called the Cockroach Janta Party started May 16, 2026, led by communications professional Abhijeet Dipke. It gained 22 million followers by June. On July 20, thousands broke a citywide lockdown and a police ban to march on India's parliament. Police used tear gas and batons, hurting over 100 students. Protesters want education reform and the education minister out.
