
New defence chief pledges to cut MoD waste
New Defence Secretary Wes Streeting told a Farnborough summit he will apply his NHS reform experience to the Ministry of Defence, vowing to cut wasted spending on military equipment. "Investment without modernisation is irresponsible," he said. The pledge follows a $20 billion defence spending boost and minister Al Carns quitting over "unbelievable" MoD waste.
