Six Beluga Whales Flown from Marineland to US Aquariums

Six beluga whales left Marineland in Niagara Falls on July 20, 2026. They were lifted in slings, crated, and flown to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago (four) and SeaWorld San Antonio (two). This follows a June 2026 deal between Canada and Marineland. Twenty-four whales and two dolphins remain. Former trainer Phil Demers felt relieved but said the debate over keeping whales in captivity is not settled.
