Houthis Block Saudi Ships as Key Waterway Stays Closed

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis said on July 22, 2026, they would block ships from reaching Saudi Arabia. Another key shipping route, the Strait of Hormuz, was already closed. That leaves Saudi oil with just one land pipeline to the sea. The price of world oil, called Brent crude, rose to $92.09 a barrel.
