New Threads Tools Let Parents Set Limits But Not Read Teens' Posts

Starting the week of July 27, 2026, Meta adds parental controls to its Threads app. Parents can see how much time their teen spends on the app, set time limits and bedtime hours, limit who can tag their teen, and lock privacy settings. Parents cannot read their teen's posts or see who they chat with — a line between guidance and snooping that regulators may question.
