UN: Long-range weapons behind nearly half of civilian deaths and injuries in Ukraine

Nearly half of civilian deaths and injuries in Ukraine in early 2026 came from long-range missiles and drones, the UN reported. These weapons hit crowded city neighborhoods far from the fighting zones. Casualties rose every month — 1,396 killed and 7,978 wounded, up 37 percent from 2025.
