Defense Chief Asks Congress for $350 Billion More for Iran War

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth asked Congress on July 21 for $350 billion beyond the Pentagon's $1.1 trillion budget to fund the Iran war, NPR reported. The White House wants to pass the money through a process that needs only a simple majority, not the usual 60 Senate votes. Senate Democrats blocked a $1.15 trillion defense bill over the war on July 14.
