Grid Operator Rushes to Connect AI Data Centers After Power Emergencies

Federal regulators ordered PJM Interconnection, which manages power across 13 mid-Atlantic states, to fast-track approvals for new AI data centers. Since June, the grid has issued nine emergency alerts as demand surges. PJM announced an expedited approval process in January.
