Ransomware Attack Disrupts Schools' Learning Platform; Student Records at Risk

A cyberattack on Canvas, the online classroom system used by nearly 9,000 schools worldwide, compromised billions of student messages and grades on May 1. The attackers, a group called ShinyHunters, claimed responsibility. Instructure, the company running Canvas, shut down systems briefly and reset security keys.
