Electric Bike Company (Spun Off from Rivian) Now Delivers Packages Around Town
Also, a company created from electric vehicle maker Rivian, has launched a line of electric-powered cargo bikes for delivering packages in cities. These bikes have pedals you can use (like a regular bike), but also have electric motors to help you move heavy loads. The TM-B model includes a chain-free belt system (quieter and smoother than chains), suspension that absorbs bumps, and removable batteries that can be swapped out when empty. It's designed so delivery companies can easily maintain a fleet of these bikes while still fitting safely in bike lanes. Also is the first major car company spinoff to focus on commercial delivery bikes, competing with companies like Rad Power Bikes and Urban Arrow that already work in this space. The demand for these bikes is growing because online shopping requires more deliveries, and cities are pushing companies to stop using polluting diesel trucks in crowded areas.
