DoorDash Is Testing Its Own Robot to Deliver Food

DoorDash has built and launched Dot, a robot that delivers food on city streets and sidewalks. The company designed it entirely in-house rather than relying on outside partners. Before a robot heads out, an automated system checks that each order is packed correctly and light enough. This could lower costs per delivery, but human delivery drivers will likely remain essential given the unpredictability of real-world conditions.
