Why Sally Rooney's books are leaving UK shelves
Sally Rooney's books will no longer be sold in the UK. The Irish writer and her publisher Faber fully agreed to stop sales in any form and hold back her payments, like wages from sales. Faber cites British law against funding banned groups, after Rooney promised payments to Palestine Action, banned as terrorist group in July 2025. Sales continue elsewhere.
