Australia Warned Its Detention Centres May Be Unsafe

Australia's safety agency Comcare says Home Affairs, which runs immigration detention, may be breaking safety law, section 19, across centres in Australia. It cites more violence and drug cases, including an 18 August fight in Melbourne that put six detainees in hospital. The government has penalised the operator, Management and Training Corporation, working as Secure Journeys.
