Families set to be poorer as housing and energy costs bite

Labour is on track for the worst squeeze on living standards since 1961, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation warns. It says money left after housing, adjusted for rising prices, will be £440-£770 lower than now by 2029-30 because of energy and housing bills. Economist Chris Belfield says families will be poorer than a decade ago without bold action.
