Meta and OpenAI Among Ten Applicants for .agent Domain

Ten companies, including Meta and OpenAI, applied to run .agent, a proposed new web address ending, in ICANN's 2026 round revealed 7 October 2026. With multiple bids for the same text, what ICANN calls string contention, final approval awaits its decision. My view for builders is to treat .agent addresses as unsettled until one operator wins.
