Coalition wants far fewer new migrants

Angus Taylor, who leads the Coalition, wants Australia to take in about 100,000 more people than leave in his first year after an election. Later that would rise to 130,000 to 225,000. Nine papers say that’s about a two-thirds cut and less than Labor’s 225,000 aim. Liberal and National MPs must tick it off on 6 October first.
