Coalition plan to cut net migration to 100,000

Coalition leader Angus Taylor wants net overseas migration — arrivals minus departures — down to about 100,000 in the first year after an election. Then 130,000 to 225,000 after that, Nine papers report. That’s roughly a two-thirds cut, below Labor’s 225,000 target. He’ll seek joint party-room approval on 6 October before going public.
