Worker at Siberian Plague Lab Dies of Suspected Lung Plague

A woman who worked at the Irkutsk plague-study lab in Shelekhov, Siberia, died Oct. 5 of a suspected lung form of plague, which spreads like a bad cough. Nearly 200 people are being watched by doctors, and Irkutsk hospitals restricted movement. Russia's health agency blames lung illness of unclear cause. Tests will decide if other countries must be told.
