
Conservatives gain support, but still trail Labour
Conservatives met in Birmingham in early October 2026 with about 20 of 100 voters backing them, up from 15 last year, sometimes ahead of rival Reform UK for first time in almost two years. Labour still led across the country. A year ago lawmakers expected a bid to remove leader Kemi Badenoch. Now the aim is survival, not winning big.
