
Conservatives climb to low 20s, edge past Reform UK
Conservatives opened Birmingham conference in early October 2026 polling in the low 20s, up from 14-16% last year, occasionally ahead of Reform UK for first time in almost two years. Labour still led national voting intention, or party choice. A year ago MPs expected possible challenge to leader Kemi Badenoch. Now goal is survival, not dominance.
