17 Catholic Pilgrims Killed in Kenya Highway Crash

At least 17 people, mostly women Catholic pilgrims on a religious journey, were killed October 3 in a multi-vehicle crash at Salama, about 90 kilometres southeast of Nairobi. They were traveling overnight on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway to a prayer site in Nakuru County when their van was struck. Seven survivors were hospitalized.
