Why Latin America Could Run Short if U.S. Stops Selling Diesel

Latin America would be hit hardest if the U.S. stops selling diesel abroad, Goldman Sachs said Oct. 2. Mexico buys the most — about 220,000 barrels a day in 2025, or 17% of U.S. exports of diesel-like fuel. The warning comes after President Trump threatened to limit sales abroad to bring down prices at home before November elections.
