
Apple adds extra step for Mac apps seeking broad file access
Apple will require clearer approval before Mac apps get Full Disk Access, the permission that lets software read files, email, messages and browsing history. Apple says AI agents, software that can act on its own, have raised the stakes, with more risk as they improve. Access remains possible, but only after deliberate user confirmation.
