New Zealand First says it would close the Waitangi Tribunal

New Zealand First says it would get rid of the Waitangi Tribunal, RNZ reported. The Tribunal is the body that looks into Māori claims about the Treaty of Waitangi. The party says it would pass a law in the first 100 days after the election to close it and start a 'Treaty of Waitangi Completion Commission'.
