UK Says Only British Builders Can Make New Submarine Repair Docks

Only British companies will build three new floating docks for nuclear submarines at HM Naval Base Clyde, Chancellor John Healey will announce. The docks work like giant floating garages for repairs and safety checks. Due in the early 2030s under a £15bn shipyard rebuild called Programme Euston, building at home keeps sensitive nuclear technology under tighter control.
