U.S. and China to Pause Trade Fight Until January, Official Says

Bessent, the top U.S. money official, said the U.S. and China will extend their pause on the trade fight, like a timeout, until January. The pause followed two days of meetings in Washington ending Sept. 24 between President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. China’s Foreign Ministry said Xi met Trump at the White House that morning.
