China's President Arrives in Washington for First U.S. Visit in 11 Years

China's President Xi Jinping arrived in Washington Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, for a formal visit scheduled Sept. 23-25, NPR reported. It is his first trip to the U.S. in 11 years. China's Foreign Ministry said he left Beijing by special plane that afternoon. Reuters reported President Donald Trump invited him.
