Xi Jinping Arrives in Washington for First State Visit in 11 Years

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Washington Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, for a state visit, a formal leaders' meeting, set for Sept. 23-25, NPR reported. It is his first visit to the U.S. in 11 years. China's Foreign Ministry said he left Beijing by special plane that afternoon. Reuters reported the visit came at President Donald Trump's invitation.
