New practical GCSEs for teenagers in England

Prime Minister Andy Burnham said teenagers in England will be able to take new practical GCSEs from 2029. GCSEs are exams usually taken at 16. Pupils aged 14 can choose work-based courses alongside main subjects. Ministers said first courses cover building, business and money, and caring for young children. The exams regulator Ofqual will keep grading equal.
