Goldman Sachs put President and COO John Waldron — its day-to-day operations chief — on its board of directors, Banking Dive reported Feb. 27, 2025. David Solomon is Chairman and CEO, per Goldman Sachs. The Wall Street Journal in 2023 called Waldron Solomon's second in command and 'considered a top contender.' I read this as more board exposure, not a handover.
