Government to pay for gas search off Taranaki

The Government will give $21.5 million to search for gas off Taranaki, Resources Minister Shane Jones said on 23 September. Jones said the EnZed Energy Kaheru project hopes to find 182 petajoules of usable gas, an energy measure, almost a quarter of what New Zealand knows it has. The money comes from a $200 million fund for finding gas.
