Government commits $21.5m to offshore Taranaki gas search

The Government will put $21.5 million towards EnZed Energy's Kaheru project offshore Taranaki, Resources Minister Shane Jones said on 23 September. Jones said the project targets 182 petajoules of recoverable gas, equal to nearly a quarter of New Zealand's proven and probable reserves. The funding comes from the $200 million gas exploration fund.
