Anthropic releases its most capable AI helper yet, Opus 5.5

Anthropic released its new AI assistant, Opus 5.5, on September 22, 2026. The company says it is its most capable system yet, scoring higher than the bigger Fable system on many tests. Two related assistants, Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5, will arrive in the coming weeks.
