Anthropic launches Opus 5.5, its top-scoring AI model so far

Anthropic released Opus 5.5 on September 22, 2026, its highest-scoring AI model to date. The company says it beats the larger Fable model on many standard performance tests, known as benchmarks. Related versions, Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5, are expected in the coming weeks.
