More than 13 crore (130 million) names were cut from draft voter lists in 30 states and territories under India's Special Intensive Revision, September 23, 2026 reporting says. The SIR is a nationwide, multi-stage voter-list check begun in late 2025. Its scale prompts questions on who was removed and how to rejoin.
