Lawyer Says Shot Man Taken From Hospital to Immigration Jail

Immigration officers took Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez from an Austin hospital late Sept. 20 to the South Texas immigration jail in Pearsall, hours after an officer shot him, his lawyer Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch says. She says the bullet is still in his back and he has no pain medicine. The department in charge did not answer questions.
