FBI Probes Claimed Jobs Portal Breach Involving Staff Data

FBI said Sept. 23 it is investigating a claimed breach of its jobs portal, fbijobs.gov, involving employees' personal identifying information. A group calling itself ShinyHunters claims it took detailed data on thousands of staff — 2-3 terabytes, including counterintelligence postings. The FBI says how access happened is unclear; the site stays offline. Such roles could invite targeting beyond identity theft.
