Digital product labels coming to New Zealand shops

Shops will get the option to show product details on a digital label that can be updated live, rather than relying only on printed labels. Regulations Minister David Seymour announced the change on 6 September 2026, saying it could be worth $111m over ten years. The Ministry for Regulation suggested the idea after a review.
