National candidate engaged to top public service boss

National's Kaipara ki Mahurangi candidate Jessica Rowe is engaged to Ben King, chief executive of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. The relationship may draw scrutiny of the boundary between political roles and the politically neutral public service as the 2026 campaign progresses.
