Anthropic Protected Claude Users Whose Accounts Were Hacked Through Their Own Computers

Anthropic discovered that malware on users' own computers had stolen access to their Claude accounts. The company proactively logged users out, deleted saved payment cards, and refunded unauthorized charges — without waiting for complaints. Six common malware programs were blamed. Anthropic's own systems were not broken into. The number of affected users was not disclosed.
