Vietnam Court Gives Death Penalty to 11 in Major Drug Smuggling Case

A court in Vietnam sentenced 11 people to death on September 3, 2026, for smuggling illegal drugs by airplane from France. More than 1,000 people were charged in the operation. Vietnam's laws allow the death penalty for drug crimes involving large amounts or organized groups.
