Google Maps Renames Lake Ontario for U.S. Users

Google Maps now shows "Lake America" instead of "Lake Ontario" for users in the United States, after President Trump ordered the name change on August 27. Users outside the U.S. still see "Lake Ontario." That's because Google follows whatever name each country's government officially uses — so Canada's label stays as it was.
